Honestly, have they secretly ever tasted it, is it such a big deal, just to taste a crispy bacon sandwch? ice cold letuce, the warm toast and butter and tomato melting in your mouth, to feel the fat dripping down your chin...so meaty, so delicious...mmmmmmm

Haha, lots of vegans and vegetarians started out as meat-eaters. Most, I think.
I have been a vegetarian for months at a time several times in my life. I enjoy meat, but I know it is very hard on the planet and the animals.
Some vegetarians miss the taste and smell of meat, therefore, they use tofu-based meatless meat products. Some are very tasty.
It is very addicting to eat meat.
Some are so grossed out by the pictures of living pigs being striped of their skins, of animals living in filth and chaos, so they want nothing at all to do with that way of life.
You are what you eat.

Yes, it is actually so tempting. I have been a vegetarian for 4 years and it still makes me crazy. I know for some people, taking a bite wouldn't be a big deal, but I feel that I'm devoted to staying a vegetarian, so I wouldn't want to "cheat". Even for bacon =)

ReBell, if you aren't a vegetarian - stop speaking for the group! sheese - little self centered aren't you? This is a question for vegetarians/vegans - let the actual veggie people speak for themselves.

Actually I have given up beef and pork. After I had given up beef for about a year, I had a craving for a hamburger and I gave into it. Made me SICK! couldn't believe how ill it made me feel. Now I don't have any cravings for those at all. I love turkey bacon -- tastes just like the pork bacon.

There's a meat locker that I go to around here that makes garlic bacon. Oh man.... Even the strongest vegetarian would stagger under the aroma.

No bacon for me for 38 years. If you're tempted by the smell, Cheatin' Bacon smells the same, is vegan, and tastes good too.

nicely, its certainly the fattiest piece of meat on the planet, so its going to place off an aroma. Baron Verulam comes from the great fat abdomen of slaughtered pigs. To me, it in basic terms smells greasy and disgusting. I see no element in loading up the human physique with all of that nasty grease and ldl cholesterol. Yuck. Nope, doesnt sway me interior the least-makes me experience slightly nauseas extremely. i'm going to have my great oatmeal with cashews and berries for breakfast, thank you

I used to eat meat, but now the smell of meat cooking makes me sick. Bacon is particularly nasty smelling.

What is your problem? Some people don't agree with you. Deal with it.

"He who denies the yumminess of the bacon, is a heretic. And he will not attain the key to the kingdom of the Great Noodled One."

Not tempting in the least. Besides, there's tempeh "bacon" --and I just love a good TLT (tempeh, lettuce, and tomato) with a slathering of mustard.
