I'm really really really picky. I don't like to try something new unless it looks good. What are some foods I can eat?

tofu is not as scary as some people want to believe it is. I'd try it first in Chinese cooking at a restaurant, if I was you.

I find that at home, I prefer my tofu raw, with a bag of Asian vegetables poured on top, so it's still cold, in a way. (Think of Green Giant's szechuan or teriyaki vegetables). I also like to cut up raw tofu into a salad mix, then add a peeled orange and some chow mein noodles and the Asian salad kit's sesame ginger dressing.

Edamame is another name for soybeans. You can boil those with some noodles and vegetables.

Just a couple of suggestions... good luck!

Being a vegetarian is not as scary as it seems...you can eat everything good like pizza, taco bell, mcdonalds, you just don't get anything with meat...and there are so many easy substitutes for meat these days..you can go to your freezer section in your local grocery store..and find the morninstar or boca products..the morningstar stuff tastes better...and they have veggie hotdogs, burgers, chicken nuggets, corn dogs.....theres so much you can do...theres really good veggie bacon and sausage for breakfast...and theres always ways to get your protein either by drinking shakes, or eating protein bars. it's not as hard or scary as you think...I've beem a vegetarian my whole life...and i've never had to eat anything scary or gross......feel free to ask me any questions you might have....=)

Well, you're going to have to try something new. I'm really picky as well, but after I went vegan, my tastebuds changed. I've learned to like asparagus and tolerate cauliflower. It's possible the veggies you don't like have not been prepared properly. Get the prettiest produce you can find and cook it up nicely. And check my profile for tips on preparing tofu.

If you cook things yourself you can make them look good ;) Try making veggie sushi, or couscous with roast veggies. And how about home made pizza? I put avocado and sundried tomatoes on my pizza as well as broccoli and various other veggies. Just use your imagination and try out new vegetables! There are millions of recipes on the net so just type in any vegetable and then "recipe" and you will find loads :)
