I've been on both sides of this argument.
If you don't want to eat meat that's your free choice. I only object to veggies when they start going on about how much healthier a veggie diet is, which is BS. Yes, I know vegetarians are very slightly more healthy on the whole, but they are generally more health conscious people. It did me absolutely no favours when I stopped eating meat for three years. If anything it exacerbated my MS and PCOS. There are a lot more ex veggies that gave up due to 'failure to thrive' than there are current veggies.
We have evolved to eat meat, the same as chimps do. Now there's another example of veggie propaganda that failed. They used to hold up chimps as an example of peaceful vegetarianism. LOL.

Accprding to Genesis 1:29 we are not suppose to eat meat.. It says: I have given thee every herb and fruit bearing seed let be thy meat! (Where the heck does the bible give permission to eat meat?.. only when there is nothing else available to eat.
There's almost always something else to eat! We aren't suppose to eat meat but God allows it because of Free Will it's our choice.. I'm not saying it's totally wrong but it's not something God condones! We are suppose to be the animals help meets it says so in Genesis.. Why do you meat eaters ignore the Bibles words?

All choices that human beings make, matter.
The choice to vote or not to vote. The choice to marry, have children, have a certain occupation or a career. All choices the humans make matter to them and to the people around them.
Becoming a vegetarian is one of them, especially for people who care about animals. They are making a careful choice.
Some people believe that humans do not have a right to 'kill' to eat for pleasure. Or why to take a life just for eating when we can get good nutritious food without killing. Some people are just not fond of eating flesh. And then there are others who find it unhealthy. All of them are making a 'choice' for different reasons. And choices are what define people.
And in this case, it matters because one is taking a stand against animal cruelty.

I wouldn't care if we were supposed to eat meat only! I chose to be a vegan for my own reasons and I don't preach about it. I only talk about my reasons when someone asks. But I am getting sick of meat eaters trying to tell me i should be eating meat. Why do they always feel the need to preach us?!

Crikey, we got that moral fraud, Mike H. hamming it up for the veggie heads.
Nothing matters to Mike because he sells feed to those who fatten cattle to be mercilessly slaughtered for the meat eaters. As long as his pockets are lined with MONEY, he doesn't give a sod. He's a Cornwallian codpiece for sure.

Actually, I've met more preachy, obnoxious and ill mannered vegetarians/vegans, in this forum at least, than omnivores. They also tend to be more defensive with regards to their lifestyle. You can check the vegetarian/vegan related topics and see for yourself.(Michael H's comment above seems to prove my point already)
bet you a month's wages, I get at least 1 negative rating here from a vegetarian/vegan (or will reverse psychology really work?)
@Michael, look beyond the canines. You're teeth's' enamel is thinner than ruminants and will not stand years and years of vegetable fibre chewing. also check your intestines."Even if built for eating meat, I will not eat it", does that mean you are not going to follow what nature has endowed you while omnivores do? So who is natural and who is artificial then?
@Silverga; what about eating meat for survival? and plants are living things too aren't they?
@MichaelH again- see what i mean?? you vegans just proved my point. By the way, since when did cabbages grow as chopped up pre packed salad? Or where can I harvest a real natural tofu burger?? Oh yeah, processed!! Reallly natural!! And do you eat the worms in an apple or do you flick or squash them against all vegan chants that ALL animal killing is bad? What about the manure in plants as fertilizer? do wash that off (artificial processing) or do you eat it natural like? Just curious...

I have a problem with this notion of what we are 'supposed' to do, that meat eaters invariably apply to their choice of food. I have lost count of the amount of times I have heard 'We are supposed to eat meat'. Who says? Our ancestors, our biology? It's meaningless. Just because we 'can' does not therefore imply we 'should'.
As you say we can manage perfectly well without meat and in many cases are better off wthout it (for example, I am the only one in my family who is not obese and I am the only veggie). I couldn't care less if we were 'supposed' to eat meat (which I don't believe we are). I am healthy and happy with a clear conscience and that's what matters.

"i see people stalking thier pre-packed bacon in the supermarket all the time, that sure looks natural to me."
--- Is it also "natural" Mike, for someone such as yourself to think it natural that you sell the hay you grow to those who feed it to animals and then slaughter them for food?
What is you position on moral frauds such as yourself.

It doesn't matter to me.
I may be designed to eat meat, I don't care either way, i'm not going to eat it.
It does make me laught though well people start quoting "canine teeth" ( take a look at a tiger - NOW THEY are canine teeth ) or they mention eyes at the front of thier heads therefore we are predetors...yep, i see people stalking thier pre-packed bacon in the supermarket all the time, that sure looks natural to me. And the way those hunting packs of humans bring down a burger in McDonalds - yeah, sure is natural
