Its not harmful.the first 3 months of the pregnancy are critical for fetus because of organogenesis(development of baby organs ).some drugs such as Indomethacin can be harmful in the last 3 months of pregnancy but the cough drop such as clobutinol are safe.of course it will be very safe if you visit your doc for correct prescription.

As cough drops are just expensive buts of stuff why bother. You and baby will probably enjoy a bit of warm milk and honey.

before you take a cough drop painful cough you just go to the doctor and ask for her advice for safety of your baby.

it should be fine but if you would rather feel more safe then use something natural like Ricola with honey and lemon...and try drinking chamomile tea with honey and lemon...it works wonderful for soothing your system...even when you are coughing...they use it in natural herbal cough remedies all the time.

also...if you are sick it works wonders to use peppermint oil in a vaporizer...that will help open your airways.

it's always the best to ask a doctor. but that has happened to me also. i didnt take medicine, treated it the natural way. lots of water and juice intake. as for my sore throat, had gargle of warm water with salt.

ask your Dr. to be sure, but I think it would be fine. You could also use hard candies, or gargle with warm salty water.
