What is the use for green olive mushroom Pate' I bought in Roma, Italy?

I am making fresh tomato, garlic, basil based sauce (with a bit of chicken) to pour over pasta, and wonder what this pate is to be used for? It says Ficacci dol 1961, novita' pate' www.ficacci.com
veggies are saute'ing slowly right now . .

Darn, I was hoping to be able to add it into my seasoning . . . :-)
