Well you have one answer papadom, however there is also another name for these crispy treats, pappads. These are served all over India and the sub-continent, often as a starter in restaurants. In the home they are also used as a means of picking up food, as often there is little table cutlery, people eat with their fingers.

In our house and many others, we like to crumble them over a curry to form a topping.

When I lived in Asia I used to watch the women making them.
First a dough is make and then they are rolled flat and sun dried. Modern versions are now factory produced and therefor more hygienic

I hope that this helps..

I make Indian Pancake but I call it Crispy Cakes but that's not the Indian name.
There's only 5 ingredients in it so
it's called Oo-da-wa-two-ce ( Oodawa2c) (Some Indian languages they use pa instead of da) (Oo-da-wa two-ce is just counting to 5 in a Indian Dialect in T.B.P.
probably Nanibijou but I could be wrong!)
Guess that's not the answer you're looking for! Sorry I don't know the name your looking for! You're not looking for Poppy cake are you? (Poppads for short.. they contain some opiam just very little.. I don't make them cause that's illegal in Canada unless you're on Indian Land!
