Why not buy fresh horseradish in a supermarket and grate it yourself? Once you taste fresh-grated you will never go back to that junk that comes pre-made in the stores.

You might get it at any supermarket or a vegetable shop . My personal opinion however is to buy fresh vegetables and grate it as and when you want to use it. This is a better because it reduces the loss of vitamins and minerals. Cut vegetables and fruits start rotting and decomposing quickly and there's no saying how long it might be lying around on the shelf in a shop.

I am having this same problem, here it is not grown nor is it something that is in demand. I guess you could order offline and grow yourself if you can not find in the local market..fresh is definitely great because when it is grated it will spoil faster.

I agree. I do make it myself also. However, if your question is why cant I FIND it, the answer is that even in a jar its highly perishable. Its in the refrigerated section of your supermarket, usually between the cheese and the milk.
