well yes, fire is energy...but it wouldnt really help the environment...it would still be releasing CO2 into the atmospher.

Yes, but that leads to a few other problems as well. Such as smoke polluting the air which (according to the government) can raise the chances of "global warming". Not to mention it is cutting down precious trees that provide oxygen and take in our wasteful carbon dioxide we breathe out.
So overall, that's not such a great solution.

Yes. In the form of heat and light. And if you use the heat to boil water in the boiler of a steam engine you can make that heat do work. Like pushing a boat through the water of generating electricity.

yes of course everything in the world has energy. Energy is never destroyed it is transfered from form to form(in this case chemical energy is transfered to heat and light energy, the chemical energy is potential[stored] and then changed into kinetic[active] in form of heat and light energy)
