Don't like having what? Let me see.... you have diabetes, don't like to test, and you eat too much candy. Is that about it?

Which do you prefer.... short term oral gratification, or living a full trouble free life?

The answer seems simple... doesn't it? What you have to do is replace your short term pleasure habit with a long term pleasure habit.... healthy eating and activities that benefit your health and make you feel good... not unhealthy treats that will slowly kill you. If you start thinking of sweets as poison, it might help.

There's a whole bunch of healthy links available under my profile if you really want help.

SL3..., I'm glad to hear you went to the doctor about your diabetes. Your next step is to get in under control. In order to do that you will need to test and decrease the amount of candy you eat. The decision is in your hands. YOU can control your disease or just ignore it. If you ignore it and continue, the outcome will be devastating. I see patients every day who have had limbs amputated because they chose not to control their diabetes. You can do it. It's a lot to handle, but you can do it!! Baby steps, a little at a time. Good luck to you.....

I agree with Mr Peachy. Get real. This is your life. Face it and make the best of it.

Start testing and stop eating candy unless you want to lose your eyesight, kidneys and possibly your feet and your life, in that order!

Sorry that this is your lot in life. It really sucks, but unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it except to take care of yourself and accept it. You may want to consider a support gorup to help you deal with it.
