If one has HIV or Aids what are the odds that they transmit it to someone during intercourse? Is it more or less for some people or is it all the same?

I'm not asking the question because I have AIDS or know someone who does.

The chance of passing AIDS is 0%. NO ONE contracts AIDS - they contract HIV, which in most cases usually develops into AIDS later on.

Check out the link below for information on how people contract HIV and the estimated numbers from different exposure routes.

Almost all of these answers to your question are wrong. HIV is not always transmitted during intercourse. The percentage is actually less than 5 percent (even without protection, as long as there is no ejaculation). The more you have sex with an infected person the greater your risk is of becoming infected. And some people are immune to HIV and their bodies will not accept the virus into their system.

Also anal sex is a lot more riskier than vaginal sex and the odds go up of becoming infected.

If one has HIV/Aids and has sex with an uninfected person and that person does not know. That person will become infected with the virus. If that person does know and still has unprotected sex with the individual that is infected they are placing themselves at a very high risk, but they can go to there physician and receive medication as a precaution as long as it is within 72 hours. They will have a series of test to find there baseline and given medication to take for 30 days. They will have to return for follow up evaluation and get tested 3 times within 6 months. If there testing comes back negative that is good for them, but if it comes back positive they have to remember how they got to that point.

If one is infected and passing the virus to person(s) that are not infected can be charged.

So please be safe and think before leaping into the bed with anyone....

if you have sex with someone that has aids or hiv, without protection, you have about a 70% chance of contracting it.

the possibility of having any STI whilst employing a condom is slender except your employing non-guy made non-latex ones because of the fact the spores are sufficiently small to renounce sperm yet no longer viruses and micro organism. That stated if the condom chop up you're buggered.

Without any protection...it's almost certainly 100%. With protection (condom), it's less, but it's NOT zero percent.

I would say don't put yourself in the position to find out. Use protection.

Its very likely especially if bodily fluids are deposited. It's harder to get it from a girl though.
