Peanut butter is a good source of protein, particularly if you choose a brand that doesn't have added hydrogenated oils and sugar (skip Skippy.) But you really have to eat a balanced diet and not depend on one source of protein. It's not at all hard to get enough protein as a vegetarian, though. If you're eating fruits, vegetables, grains (bread, pasta, etc, especially whole grain varieties,) beans and other legumes, nuts and seeds, and soybeans or soy products (meat substitutes, tofu) then you will be getting plenty of protein.

Peanuts and peanut butter (along with other nuts and nut butters) are good sources of protein, but they're also fairly high in fat. You might want to eat beans, soy products, seitan (made from wheat gluten, called "wheat meat"), quinoa (a South American grain)--basically, if you eat a variety of foods, you should be fine. It's never a good idea to rely on one food for a source of any nutrient.

um..if you ate loads of it. the S.A.D. (standard american diet) says that we need like 46 grams a day. I think that's a bit much. I think we just need to eat healthy.

If you're worried about protein though, try::
tofu, soy, quinwoa, legumes, nuts/seeds, whole grains, ect. don't worry, deary, you'll get plenty. :)

PS: besides, peanut butter is really fatty and high calorie. if you want to eat a lot of it though, make sure it doesn't have partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, it's terrible for your liver.

Yes, it will give you enough protein, but eating too much of it may cause other problems. Try to eat a broad variety of nuts, and some beans as well.
