What bands/singers/? Stuff like that I'm looking for. I'm not going to judge, just curious. I can go from Moody Blues to Motley Crue to Mat Kearney, Aerosmith to AC/DC to Augustana.
A good song is a good song regardless of the genre. What bands/singers do you vegers like?

Janet---hey I like a lot of the same stuff. I wasn't implying that anybody changed their musical tastes when the became a veger, more along the lines of what musical tastes became vegers. An innocent question except to those who are unusually uptight.

Here is an example of the ternminally unhappy, neverending sourpuss:
"DUH IM VAYGUN. I don't listen to music. Radios are made with animal parts. And music travels through the airwaves and I think it's immoral to have music take up air that animals could be breathing.
p.s. Is that the proper answer you were looking for?"

Thanks to everyone who answered the question with positivity and shared their musical tastes.
To those of you who couldn't accomplish that, you've clearly seperated yourselves into another group.
Krister---maybe that Smashing Pumpkins album should have been called "Jenny Collie and the Infinite Sourpuss"?

I REALLY don't understand why people have to get SO defensive! Obviously I listen to the same music now as I did before I became veggie! Anyone who would think that becoming a veggie would change a person's music preference has to be a moron! (ME I know you're not a moron! You sure like to push buttons though! lol!)

I'm hooked on the music from the 60's and 70's mostly. I love the Beatles, the Byrds, the Stones...Simon and Garfunkel, tons of them. Not as big of a fan of motown, though.. but I like a few mowtown songs. ..
But my tastes are extremely varied. I also like Judy Collins, Karen Carpenter (Best female vocalist EVER), Roger Whittaker, John Denver (excellent songwriter), some of Michael Jackson's stuff from the 80's (before he became a plastic psycho)..
I like some modern stuff too... VERY select pop singers, and aLOT of modern country...no rap, hip-hop, or anything like that. NO Metal (EWWW)..
I also enjoy some classical.. depending..
I also consider Weird Al Yancovic a comedy god.
Currently my favorite songs:
Catch the Wind (Donovan..circa 1965)
How to save a life (???)) Just keep hearing it and love it.. no idea who sings it.. have to look it up.
Aerosmith- Dream On (the show Cold Case introduces me to alot of songs I've never heard, and some I fall in love with)
Because of You. (Kelly CLarkson and Reba)
Check back, because if I think of anything else I'll add it later
Yes, I would have made an excellent hippy.. well..except for the free love and drugs...
But not all vegetarians and vegans are hippies..
Oh I LOVE Enya too!!
and I have a special place in my heart for Willie Nelson's "Stardust" CD.. probably because it reminds me of road trips we took as a family (My Dad was a big Willie Nelson fan)
Mamas and Pappas were awesome too.. and Peter, Paul, and Mary...
Peace, Love, and Tofu!!

We'll listen to anything but Meat Loaf, Captain Beefheart and Phish.
Anyone who listens to Phish isn't a real vegetarian.
Okay, I was kidding.
I'm a part time musician and the first music I played was bluegrass, the last band I was in was ska and reggae.
I have tons of records; a lot of reggae, different kinds of country music, jazz, ethnic music from India and the Middle East. I'm collecting Jamaican mento records (it's kind of like calypso). I like the Beatles and Bob Dylan a lot. I don't listen to top 40 radio. The last concert I went to was Del McCoury (bluegrass).
I used to be a music major in college, I don't listen to "classical" much, but I like Bach, Wagner, Mozart and Vivaldi.

I like a little bit of most types of music, but mostly my tastes run to alternative. I go see Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, Social Distortion and Bad Religion in concert any chance I get, but I have everything from Johnny Cash to the Police to Simon & Garfunkel to The Beastie Boys on my iPod.

My taste is pretty eclectic from Barenaked Ladies to Fountains of Wayne to Lush to Rilo Kiley to Tegan and Sara. I still listen to some 80s alternative stuff, as I came of age then.
So it's hard to define a music style for veg*ans as a group as we all listen to different things.

My musical tastes have always been pretty eclectic & going veg hasn't changed that @ all. I enjoy most genres including classical, jazz & '80's alternative, especially what my SO calls "old-school goth." More current favorites include the White Stripes & She Wants Revenge.
