Is there a good source, like consumer reports, that has done impartial reviews of the different brand names? I have heard that a lot of the monitors out there are very unreliable.

The best one is omron as this is what the health professionals use Don't buy these cheap ones from some chemists as they do not give you an accurate reading my friend works in a hospital and he has to calibrate them every year The only one you should buy is the arm cuff as these ones you use on your wrist are not accurate

If you live in the UK, Lloyds Pharmacy sell one for £9.99. We were recommended it by a healthcare professional when our old machine became unreliable.
