Instead of watching TV, get your butt on google.com and look it up.

I will tell you this...my intestines had nothing to do with my diabetes. My pancreas failed. End of story.

The small intestine has nothing at all to do with preventing diabetes. Go back and re-read your assignment.

Regulating blood glucose has more to do with the the liver and pancreas than the small intestine. The small intestine merely absorbs the various sources of glucose (all carbs including the various sugars). Then, it's up to the pancreas and the liver to regulate it. For more on this, look up glucagon, insulin, glycogen, and glucose on wikipedia.... if you can stay off youtube long enough, that is.

The small intestine has many important functions, but most of them have nothing to do with regulating blood sugar.

Diabetes means that either no insulin or insufficient insulin is being produced by the pancreas or that the body is unable to utilize the insulin that is being produced.

I would try looking at the links below and of course, there is always google, or if you have the time the library. Google is faster, but the library can insure that the information you are getting is accurate.

The answer has already been given but your question is wrong. The small intestine regulates blood sugar absorption but does not prevent diabetes, If you took out someones small intestine you would have blood sugar problems but not diabetes.
