Unless you are talking about Certified Naturally grown (CGN) which is an alternative to the USDA certified organic program, there well could be all sorts of chemicals in naturally grown products as naturally grown is a meaningless term as is natural because there are zero standards for such terms.

If you want to avoid your food being grown with synthetic chemicals you need to buy certified organic ( widely found), certified naturally grown (which you will only find via farmers markets, farm stand and CSA's) or buy direct from a farmer who is not certified but uses organic methods (you will have to ask questions)

Almost ALL of the produce grown in the U.S. is genetically modified to withstand large amounts of chemical herbicides. This does not include organic produce.

There is a sickening circle of events currently in action involving our food. Pharmacia Corporation (a drug company) bought Monsanto. Monsanto spent billions of dollars creating genetically modified crops that can withstand large amounts of herbicides. Upon completion of that, they went out and bought all of the large seed companies in the U.S. So Monsanto now sells most of the seeds for U.S. crops and they are seeds for genetically modified produce. On top of that, Monsanto makes RoundUp, the most used herbicides in the world. So they sell the seeds that can withstand the herbicides and sell the herbicides too. The large amounts of herbicides are unhealthy over time for humans. That's why people that can choose go with the organics. Back to the start. Pharmacia Corporation is a drug company. They will be the end of the circle of events. Monsanto provides the seeds and the herbicides, you eat the produce, over time illnesses from the food occur and then Pharmacia cashes in selling you the drugs to treat the illnesses they themselves have caused.

If my word isn't good enough (and I know to some of you it's not), do a Google and Yahoo search.
