Is British food the absolute worst? Everyone I have spoken to states it is horrid but then claims no first hand experience eating it. Come on, the Brits haven't poisoned themselves yet in the thousands of years they have been eating their own cooking! If you think that Brit food is the absolute worst on the planet, why? And don't say 'cause my granddad was there during the war and said so....

That is actualy the answer. Most Americans have never been out of the country, the image they have of England is dreary overcast and mushy tasteless food. One of my favorite memories is that England has many curry houses. You can NOT tel me curry is bland, so for the most part People just blurt out what the have heard as the truth. Sorry.

It may have been somewhat true at one time, but it's not true any longer.

Some of the best chefs on the planet make their home in the UK. I don't travel to Europe often, but last year I made a trip to both England and Ireland and was pleasantly surprised with most of my dining experiences (opposed to a trip that I had made 15 years earlier).

America is going through a renaissance with its food. We're making some of the best beers in the world today and 20 years ago we were stuck with bud and miller. We drink starbucks coffee today, and 20 years ago we were drinking poorly brewed folgers. England is going through the same thing today, and the examples I gave in the U.S. are proof that this can happen fairly quickly.

Alexander the Greek got here from Macedonia, and Macedonia is interior the north of Greece, of direction they are going to undertake some customs yet no longer ALL. Canada is to the north of the U. S. and is somehwat resembling the U. S.. Does that recommend Canadians are human beings, New Zealanders are Australians, Georgians Russians? Alexander considered himself Macedonian, no longer Greek. Greeks observed Macedonians as vulgar drunks and Alexander did little to dispel that via being under the impression of alcohol. Greece needed no longer something to do with him. Alexander destroyed the Greek city of Thebes, the domicile of Hercules. No Greek might have accomplished that. ALexander the great replaced into MACEDONIAN!

People love to gang up on others. British food is fine. No, it's not up there with Japanese or French food, but it's a lot better than Korean or German food.

Brits do marvels with lamb. Meat pies are perfect there. Yes, fish and chips are your forte, just as hamburgers and fries are America's, and you do them better than anyone else. Many British pastries are heaven and your knowledge and appreciation of tea is perhaps the best in the world.

It is astonishing to me how many people bash your food without ever having tried it. When I was in London I had one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. At least I base my opinions on food I've actually eaten. Shame on the others.
