I'm constantly thirsty, my mouth is always dry, I have to go to the bathroom a lot, I've lost weight, even though I eat more than I usually do. It doesn't seem like I'm any thirstier than I used to be, but I'm not really sure. I know that my hunnger has increased though. I'm always looking for something to eat, and will eat almost anything to ease my 'hunger.' I always have a bad attitude towards everyone, and I'm always yelling.
I think it'd be awkward to tell my mom I should be tested before jumping to conclusions.
What do you think?

I've also noticed that if I eat certain things with a lot of sugar, such as chocolate or soda, I feel really dizzy and weak and I have to lay down. I drink about 8-12 large glasses of water or tea a day. And like I said, if I eat too much sugar I feel like I'm going to throw up.

I only know of 5 people in my family that have diabetes. They all have type 2.
I'm not sure if I do or not, or if I'm just overreacting. Don't call me stupid for asking a question I already know the answer to, because I don't. Yahoo Answers is for uncertain people to ask questions to the public without being criticized.

Tell your mother before you get in serious trouble over something that can be easily managed if you know for sure you are diabetic. If you have it---and you sure have enough symptoms to see a doctor---you will feel so much better when you are treated and under control. If you keep putting this off, you could end up in the hospital and if you think telling your mom now is awkward think how you'd feel laying in a strange bed in a strange place. There is nothing to be ashamed of or to be scare of---tell you mom what you're written here.

Most drug stores have blood glucose checkers for very low cost with some test strips included, and it will be easy to learn for sure. You'll find many of the your friends have meters and not telling. There are also urine test strips that are easy to use and can tell a lot. Its hard to judge the symptoms because other things can cause those, its best to have a test and know for sure... quickly so you can take steps to stop any potential damage from the disease.

It sounds like you might. I had the same symptoms as far as the eating everything and still losing weight. I was also thirsty and had numbness in my finger tips. The bad attitude wasn't one of my symptoms but I could see where you might get affected in this way. Definitely you want to get your blood sugar tested asap. Don't procrastinate as the consequences can be enormous. Don't be afraid to tell mom!

You don't have diabetes. How old are you? Did you go though puberty? Your stomach is just getting big. If you had diabetes then your just out of energy. Drink water and nothing else so the salt and sugar doesn't make you thirsty. You can ask your mom for help. But you don't have diabetes. If it doesn't get better then tell your mom.

While it may be very awkward to tell your mom, you should find someone who you are more comfortable with and have them take you to the doctors.

If your mom is your only option then you should have her take you to the doctor.

Either way you won't have to worry about not knowing anymore.

Do to the doctor if you have any concerns like this.. It may be awkward but this is YOUR body and YOUR health! Just go to the doctor for a routine check up and routine blood tests you don't have to go in and say please test me for diabetes i think i have it!

it's possible but there is no way to know unless you actually get your blood sugar tested. If you're worried, go ahead and get tested and see what's going on.
