do all you vegitarians ever get the urge to eat meat. i mean do you walk by a hamburger shop and just think, that looks good. even for a second. i mean i understand that you don't eat it because of it being mean to animals, but if you ate meat at one point don't you ever kinda want it. like a craving.

and i totaly don't think it's wrong, i mean if you ate meat before and you liked it, then i think it would be natural.

Oh yeah...I've been vegetarian for about 5 years now. I definitely get cravings for meat. My weaknesses are BBQ in the spring/summer---and turkey, ham, etc. around the holidays...I got great insight about this from a wonderful Indian woman who grew up as a vegetarian in Kenya. She told me that when she first came to the U.S., the smell of McD's and BK made her sick to her stomach. I realized that we only really crave this stuff because we had it before....In other words, we are conditioned. Some smells, tastes and textures are related to comfortable and pleasant times in our lives--hence "comfort foods." Clearly, we do not need any of this to survive or live happily. It's just deep conditioning...Again, if you never had it, you wouldn't crave it--and your body doesn't need it....It really is all in our head....

I personally do not ever crave meat. I think of meat I see differently than I once did(before I was vegetarian). Before I became vegetarian I didn't see the meat as a former animal, just food. I look at the meat I see much differently now. I can see the creature it once was and imagine the fear, pain and torment it must have went through. When I see meat I can't look past the fact that it is something dead sitting on the kitchen table. The thought of putting somethings dead flesh into my mouth is repulsive to me.

This has simplest occurred to be a pair instances--Yves lasagna bowl, Morning Star Farms red meat veggie puppies (that used to be while I used to be simplest vegetarian; it has cheese in it), and Silk soy yogurt. It tasted such a lot just like the truly factor it FREAKED me out and I could not conclude consuming any of em despite the fact that I knew it wasn't truly, lol. I finally received used to the Yves lasagna, did not consume the veggie puppies anymore due to the fact that I went vegan, and did not attempt to Silk yogurt for many years--while I eventually attempted it once more, I might REALLY style the soy and did not adore it. But yeah. It scares me repeatedly, lol.

I have been vegetarian for 23 years and meat doesn't appeal to me at all.
I used to eat meat, but there's also candy I liked when I was a little kid that I couldn't imagine eating now.

No, I had a craving for a cold roast beef sandwich in 1987, but none since then. I don't consider it food, so why would I crave it? That would be like craving cotton or mud or roses for lunch.
