Pubs and bars are known to serve alcoholic drinks and people love going there to imbibe, so perhaps you'll need to look elsewhere for your entertainment in the evenings. If you contact AA, they may help you out by giving you the names of non-alcohol places where you can have some fun. Sometimes they even sponser their own "club" where members can go to party without imbibing. And, perhaps you need to take a look at who you are friends with these days....perhaps its time to move on if your buddies are drunks and you can't relate to them anymore.

I agree. It does get tiring. It seems people cannot have fun and have a party without drinking. I generally stay away from parties like that because everyone begins to act ridiculous, unless I stay to take pictures. People's feelings get hurt because someone said something, fights start, it is not worth it. Try to do 'dinner parties'. I different word with a different meaning. A dinner party is just that, conversation around dinner, you do not have to serve drinks, invite interesting people and seat them acccordingly. You will notice who your friends are- the people that go for the drink or people that go for conversation.

go bowling, that is always fun and you don't have to drink. I understand it's no fun being the sober one amongst drunks. I'm on my way to work where I'll be the only sober one there.

Have your own parties. Arrange enough fun that people don't even notice that there isn't any alcohol. If they don't like it ...they can leave. I'm sure there are others out there that feel the same way you do...I know I do.

Our church is always having parties and they are always dry, but great fun. I know what you mean and do not start drinking because of everyone else. Good on you! You are welcome to one of ours at any time!
