The bitter melon referred to, is reported to mimic the body's glycogen storage mechanism and helps convert glucose into glycogen. It's not a cure all though, it merely helps. Cinnamon is actually a better food supplement, as it mimics the action of our own insulin by helping to escort the glucose through the cell walls. No food product can (or is likely to) "rejuvenate" the pancreas. There are lots of foods and supplements that assist the body's own mechanisms, however. See my profile for links.

Dr. Faustman, of Massachusetts General Hospital fame, has successfully treated mice and gotten their pancreas to rejuvenate and is working on a treatment for humans. Read more here:

Allie Beatty is one of Dr. Faustman's volunteers for the trial. She is also one of the most outspoken advocates, for type 1 diabetics, I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Read her blogs, get to know her, and subscribe to her broadcasts... you won't regret it. She's one very smart lady.

Both. A banana (the yellow thing you peel and eat) is undoubtedly a fruit containing the seeds of the plant. though since commercially grown banana plants are sterile, the seeds are reduced to little specks. However, the banana plant, though it is called a 'banana-tree' in popular usage, is technically regarded as a herbaceous plant (or 'herb'), not a tree, because the stem does not contain true woody tissue.

I work for a nutraceutical company and most people swear by Juniper Berries. Also slow down on sugars and starches and eat a healthy diet and you are on your way to rejuvenating your pancreas.
