my ex husband gave me it after he slept with someone behind my back, i noticed i had it within weeks as i got abnormal bleeding and pains( notice the EX!)
luckily no permanent damage was caused, you can have it for years with no symptoms though which is really a really scary thought

Heh. Well, I went to the doctor and asked about this... she said teens can have chlamydia or gonorrhea without seeing anything for up to two to three years. But when you're older, the symptoms usually come quickly.
