There are many types of pneumonia.

Bacterial pneumonia - can be contagious

Viral pneumonia - can be contagious

Fungal pneumonai - usually not but can be.

Aspiration pneumonia - usually not contagious unless they develop the viral or bacterial pneumonia.

Atalectic pneumonia - usually not contagious unless they develop the viral or bacterial pneumonia.

It depends on what the cause is.

Pneumonia is fluid in the tiny sacs of the lungs. It could be caused by a number of things. If it's viral or bacterial (or maybe fungal) pneumonia, then the cause could be contagious. If it's caused by chemical inhalation or an injury to the lungs, then it most likely wouldn't be contagious.

No, pneumonia is an infection in your lungs, not a virus.

it is contagious until the person who has it has been on antibotics for 72 hours.

I don't know if it is contagious...But if it is contagious you should stay away from it...
