Hi,
My friends and I were trying to find a hiking trail in Massachusetts that would be about 10miles long, making it a fun weekend activity. We need to find a trail that we could sleep over night if we wanted to. Also a river of somesort would be cool to sort of relax by.
Thank You!

Applichain Trail in western Mass.
Its around Great Barrington.
Check out Eagles Perch and Bear Rock Falls both are on the AT. There are a bunch of good one and two day hikes in the area with camping places too, and lots of easy places to park your car to start the hike. Its also well marked. Its really pretty this time of year too!

The Appalachian trail runs through the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. Hike a section of it that goes through the Housatonic river valley.

Hi-have you tried the Metacommet-Monadnock trail that goes over Mt.Holyoke and through the Notch in Western Mass? It has magnificent views of the Ct river and you can camp off the trail at different places. More info thru The Notch visitors center.

There is an abundance of beautiful hiking trails in Massachusetts. Many of them have great water features as well. I recommend checking out http://www.ellastrails.com/ for some good ones like Bash Bish Falls which is one of my favorites. Have fun!
