I don't, but I never did, even before I was vegetarian. I'm not sure how related the two are, except that vegans and people who oppose war are both generally on the left side of the political spectrum.

That's a loaded question, and I'm sure in your eyes, vegans cannot possibly answer this "correctly," while omnivores can do no wrong. But I'll try.
If we are attacked, then we have the right to fight back--such as when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. I won't get into the conspiracy theories that FDR "let" the attacks happen because he needed an excuse to get into the war. After the attacks, thte U.S. declared war on Japan, Germany declared war on the U.S., and the rest is history.
And while I didn't like it, I kind of understand why we went into Afghanistan in 2001--the scumbags who planned the 9/11 attacks were hiding out there. And Bush let them get away. Again, I won't get into conspiracy theories about the Bush administration's negligence in this regard.
However, you cannot fight a war against an ideal (such as communism) or a tactic (terrorism). War should be an absolute last resort after all other options have been exhausted, which in too many cases, they aren't. Those in power should take every step to avoid war--which all too often doesn't happen.

I know a vegan who is very argumentative.
I can't see that person being a pacifist.
I'm a veggie and disapprove of war, but i think the 2 are unrelated except for being based on a core belief of trying not to hurt animals or people.

it depends on individual beliefs. saying "all war is bad" i think is a an unthoughtful cliche answer. sometimes it is waranted. what exactly would people have suggested that the US and the rest of the world do when hitler was trying to take over the world? "talk". yeah right. diplomacy is of course the first and most important step, but when you are dealing with people who have nothing to lose and are completely insane, they dont always respond well to having a chat.

I would think that most true vegans would oppose war based upon the vegan doctrine. However, it does make you wonder when you see some people (vegan or not) that resort to terroristic tatics to gain attention to there cause. That, I believe, would be double standard and would lead to a case of hypocrisy!

veganism is a diet and lifestyle that avoids animal exploitation and harm. it does not dictate any other belief system. vegans would disapprove of the use of animals in warfare (horses in the cavalry, etc) but that would be where the vegan belief system would stop. how someone feels about war other wise would be a personal decision based on their individual beliefs.

"REAL" vegans do not under any circumstances. The "convenient vegans" on here of course can choose whatever they want. But to be a real vegan you are unequivocally against all wars.
