I live thousands of miles away from someone very important to me who has a growing stomach tumor. She is too sick to work and I don't know the first thing about facing a life threatening illness, insurance, or getting treatment. Once I found out about her condition I've been working as much as I can but I just don't make enough money to help. I think blue shield costs $400 a month but that's just too expensive. Are there other options available?

She needs to go to her local social services office and apply for medicaid and find out about applying for disability. Most insurance companies will not insure her now that she has cancer.

You are so sweet to try to help her, especially at such a long distance.

**addon** google 'role of resveratol in prevention and therapy of cancer" if will ot open hit HTML version

Nick a friend of mine was given 3 months to live and he started taking resveratrol and that was over two years ago. yahoo or google "resveratrol preclinical and clinical studies" and "resveratrol aggrawal". Yo can buy the stuff at most good health stores, oldsouthwinery.com, vitacost.com and manymore. Most sell the stuff made from the root ofthe knotweed plant. The Japanese and chinese use it.

Dr. Aggarwal is at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and has done a ton of tests on the stuff as all over lthe world. You can go to md Anderson and look up his stuff. The resveratrol some how corrects broken dna and it tells the bad cells to go away and the killer cells to get it.

I take the stuff because I have ruptured disc in my back and it is also a Cox 1-2 inhibitor. God made the stuff and the drug cmpanies cannot mimick it so they don't push it. I suggest you try it. Yo can always contact the doctors at md anderson. So check it out.. Take care, and look for the 60 page report from Anderson, that's the "preclinical" thing, explains about the different pathways and cancrs it corrects. take care and May the lord help. Then look up IP6 it may help. But the resveratol doesn't cost much.

Also contact Anderson and Mayo clinic and see if they have a program to help.

first let me say make sure that she has no money in the bank, nor any retirement income readily available. No money that she can borrow on her life insurance. Nothing of value except a car and home. You can only have a $3,000.00 of value when you apply for help. I also have cancer and I applied for disability and was approved, but I also need some type of insurance, because my cobra insurance will run out soon. My home caught on fire in Nov. of last year and the insurance company sent me a check and I deposited it in my account. Now I am not qualified for any benefits such as SSI so that I could get Medicaid. I have to wait for 24 months after being qualified for disability. So it will now be 15 months with out insurance. No one else will insure me. Doctor visits sill going on and CT scans every 4 months and I'm not sure of what to do either. But please before she applies get everything over $3,000.00 out of her name.

She could also talk to a social worker ar the hospital where she was diagnosed with the tumor.
Also, write e-mails to Cancer organizations, charities, foundations (in Oklahoma or ANYWHERE) and ask for financial help or some other help. I wonder if some hospitals don't even have some "memorial" funds that may be available..or maybe they could waive part of the costs or work out a repayment plan with her (social worker at hospital would be the one to ask)l

You're being a great friend.

She won't be able to get regular insurance at this time. The state offers Medicaid for low income people. If she is tied in with a county hospital, they may help with this application process. Talk with a medical social worker, perhaps at a hospital near to your friend.
