It depends on what they are using that as a reason for. If it is because they don't believe a certain philosophy or doctrine, that is what we are supposed to do! The Bible is our sole - as in ONLY - authority on spiritual matters. If you come to me and try to tell me I need to believe a certain doctrine, I will study my Bible to see how it measures up. If it does, fine. If not, I will not accept that. It may seem lame to you and that's okay, you are entitled to think whatever you like about people! But that is what believers are supposed to do - take everything like that back to the Bible and see how it measures up.

Note - this doesn't work with science as well. The Bible is not a science textbook. What science it contains is accurate, but the primary focus of the Bible is Jesus Christ, not science. Just so you know!

Minister/Pastor with all due respect I must say that god didn't decide what went into the different versions of the Bible. King James decided what went into that version of the Bible. It was a group that decided not allow the inclusion of the dead sea scrolls. What about the fact there is a Jewish version and a Samaritan version. That doesn't even include all the watered down versions we have for children because the Bible itself has to disturbing of imagery for children. Next time ask which version they are talking about. When they ask why, say you want to reseach what they said and get back to them.

No. But, I find it saddening that some people cannot get out of their square though. To limit ourselves to Sunday school may exclude any new insight from the Spirit of Truth.

It can't be annoying, your statement is not in the bible. lol

Yeah, the bible gives you a foundation to build upon, spiritually, but it does NOT give you all the answers. That would make the bible a god.
