El capitan.
The same is used for both male and female.

Check a Spanish dictionary or www.rae.com (Real Academia Espanola) and you'll see that in there is no "la capitana" in Spanish.

the first answerer pointed out that officially "la capitana" is incorrect, but in the streets and in many newspapers you will find "la capitana" for female.
