There is one problem with people who are atheists and that is why or how could there be anything at all in the universe if there wasn't a God to start it? I mean I believe in the big bang theory and all, but how would matter be created from nothing if there were no God?

If there is a God, who or what created God? By stating there is a God who created the Universe, aren't you just creating the same problem of something being created from nothing - unless you're suggesting God is nothing, in which case, that means God doesn't exist.

I just don't see how one has to follow the other.

And as far as the beginning of the Universe, I'm not even going to attempt to wrap my mind around that one. Scientists believe the universe as we know it has existed for about 14 billion years. At this time, there is no way to know what existed before that. Maybe the universe as we know it now is just the latest incarnation of the universe which has been constantly recycling its self.

If your saying the big bang created the universe so who created the matter involved in the big bang....

If god created Earth.... who created god??? Why is it easy to believe that some magician type man exists who has no begining and no end.... but you cant believe that maybe the unvierse just has no real begining and no real end??

How can you believe that some man used "magic" to creat some planets with some people on it? Why did he sunddenly decide to do that?? Was he on a power trip and wanted swarms of little people to worship him?? Anyway... I'm going off the point...

Easy: I'm an atheist because there are no gods. You'll never be able to prove there are, and the burden of proof lies with those making the contention. As for the "big bang," there is more evidence to at least make it a more plausible theory than a six-day creation story.

In much the same way that there could not be a God unless something or someone created him!!!! The paradox stands for both God and the Big Bang.

If you say that God always was then I say that the Big Bang always was.

Also it is proved in physics that particles may appear at random without the need for a creator. These particles appear and then annihilate shortly afterwards. Given enough particles appearing within the same area at one time these particles may interact and bind and thus form something out of nothing.

The big bang theory does not say that matter was created from nothing. It says that all matter and energy were condensed into a singularity and when this singularity "exploded", subatomic particles combined to make atoms, and the universe that we know came into being. There is nothing magical in this. The science of cosmology is fascinating, read all about it.

Matter is nothing more than energy. Energy cannot be created or destroyed. There is no need for a god, since energy has been there all along....... unless you want to say that energy IS god, and therefore god is everything, including you and me. Either way, what earthly difference does it make whether you believe in something or not?

by believing that nothing is neither created nor destroyed therefore there is no beginning and no end and the question of what came first the chicken or the eggs ultimate answer is that neither came first

nothing about faith or religious creationism can be proven so we just have to go with our guts and belief whatever we choose to and to live accordingly by it and accept that other people have different guts and beliefs

The universe started off very small and it grew into what it is today over billions of years. I think this is more logical than an all-powerful, all-knowing being just popping out of nowhere.
