It's a cold, scary world outside the Garden. An omniscience, omnipotent Cosmic Being ( with your personal welfare as a hi-priority ) on the string can be mighty handy. Ask almost any current Sports figure. God gains more 1st downs, scores more touchdowns, gets more hits every season . { His agent will want to renegotiate his contract any time now, no doubt. } Those athlete dudes keep the poor deity so busy its no wonder S/He doesn't get around to the less "fun" jobs. The tired old floods, hurricanes, twisters, droughts, famines, plagues,[ that whole 4 Horsemen ; of the Apocalypse routine] that used to make up his playbook are slowly making way for......Oh but that's a whole other question... Is the concept known as God, Allah, Vishnu, Ganesha and a million others a sports fan? Is he less interested now days in smiting enemies, testing the faith of his true believers, and playing a fantasy Island innkeeper-ish, Fernando Lamas, to a paradise filled with the tried and tested ? Or is it all just a crock? The whole question comes down to " Faith". Can you suspend your disbelief and give yourself up to what ever the tenets of your particular god happen to be? Many people can, many can't... For myself, I find that the concept of deity has many names , many faces but they all address the same idea. Linking the wandering children of Adam with an old landlord.

How about reducing the number of gods to zero. It makes much more sense.

They've reduced the size of computers so that they could fit in our pocket. There might as well be a 'pocket god' for use when needed w/- checking on the manual of course. The term 'reduced', however, may be inappropriate due to mathematical views.

They should be reduced to zero imo. It's just mythology that's handed down though the ages. If you do your research the bible is just a version of the same story that has been re told over and over.

Why should you have a 10 page booklet for hotel menu? Can we not just eat one dish and come out. While food satisfies your taste buds and belly calls, Gods and goddesses satisfies your inner call. Giving choice to a large clientele is important both from functional and operational point of view.

Nah! been there, done that. Every "God" in every Scripture in All of the Worlds religions, has a Plural aspect. Why not check it out? "Christianity" = we, our. Islam = we, etc, etc, etc, Why not check, I could be wrong, but then again so could millions of believers!

CHRISTIANITY: God is one & his message to mankind is delivered through jesus by Gabriel.
ISLAM: There is no God other than God.
SIKHISM: God is one & incorporeal.
JAINISM: God is a supreme soul resembling the soul of all living things.
HINDUISM: Parmatma(supreme soul) is one and all other forms are incarnations of him.
Now tell me, where is multiplicity of God?
