A lot of people claim to be Christians & may well be. But how do your answers effects non-Christians & Christians as well?

Are you wishy washy? believe in things that go against scripture/talking to the dead being okay/Bashing Christian leadership, how can they tell you're saved, if you're no different than the average unbeliever? think about it. Is it worth your holding on to non-scriptural practices & being "okay" with the lost when we shoud be praying for them & love them enough to be loyal to the Holy God in Heaven?

it erks me, to see people on here, who half - heartedly believe, & go along with "ghost" & such & okaying other "beliefs'' ,

Christians, Quit riding the fence &make up your mind, Who are you going to serve? Self --or play along & go along with everything?

I didn't mean to be coming on too strong. I just don't get how people go along & believe on some things that may be satanic, yet answer on R & S, how does that kind of testimony stand with Christ?it isn't going to help others, do they acutally care or just selfish?.

I just think it's wrong to be talking to be"hanging out " or talking to ghost too.

What would that tell you about a Christian?

I sure hope so!
Not just because I quote scripture but because everything I write I mean with all my heart!
(and of course I also answer funny questions and ask funny questions when in a funny mood....)
But more importantly I come here to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and His word with others!

I believe that only God can see the heart and know for sure who is saved. But in any case you are right that we need to reflect the love of Christ and we should be different from those who are in darkness. Yes, "true" Christians need to be a light that shines in this dark world that points the way to Christ. I have always said going to church does not make one a Christian anymore than going to a hospital makes me a doctor. Declaring to the world that we are Christians has little meaning if we are seen partaking in Satanic holidays, accepting the standards that secular society sets when it downplays Christianity. We should want to be here and "on fire" when representing our Lord! There are those that call themselves Christians and follow the secular world, watch the same TV shows filled with violence, etc. There is not much that would identify them as followers of Christ. This is why Christ will someday say to them, "I never knew you".

Let us all be mindful of becoming lukewarm! Let us all endeavor to be red hot and have a fire for the word of God! Thank you for the wonderful question!

wow.:)
You just say it as it is don't you sister :)
Bottom line sis.. I think that we need to not just say things that relate to Christ but allow the Lord to flavour and affect what we say and are here on Y!A. One crucial thing that I hope we realize is that even though people may not know us personally we STILL represent Christ here. When I respond or ask a Question.. are others left with the impression and feeling that the Lord had anything to do with it or am I just being " me" ...

For me this means that I be consistent according to the Lord in me. At one time I started answering in another forum that was from my country and I know it confused a lot of my brothers and sisters. The Lord spoke a strong word in my being about that and since then I've hardly touched that forum. It put me into a mode where I could have forgotten who I am FIRST. I am a believer in CHRIST FIRST, then I am a trinidadian/canadian.
But thats just a little practical testimony.

We each have to know if we are obeying the Lord no not. He has feelings on everything that we do and day. I posted a Q on " holding to truth in love and of growing up into Christ as the Head in all things".. These "all things" include how we respond and behave on Yahoo Answers. The Lord's name has been abused by unbelievers and sometimes sister.. and may the Lord have rich mercy towards us.. sometimes we too abuse the Lord's name with our double standards.
After all is said and done.. its not we who people reject.. its the Lord who paid the highest price that is rejected and degraded, sometimes because of our poor stand.

Good sobering and thougth provoking Q

Being 'saved' is a concept that is not supported in the Bible.
I will clarify this point fully.

The idea of being 'saved' - 'once for all time' ..or becoming saved (as in a permanent condition) isn't from the Bible.

A person is not guaranteed of being saved.

First century Christains well knew this fact.

They knew that they had not been completely saved once for all time.
Having accepted Jesus, God's means of salvation, they had to 'continue' in the way of salvation.
That is why they were told: "Keep working out your own salvation with fear and trembling," and, "Now our salvation is nearer than at the time when we became believers." (Phil. 2:12; Rom. 13:11) They had yet to make their salvation sure for all eternity by enduring in the way of salvation.-Matt. 10:22; Rev. 2:10.

So the same is for true Christians today.
There is no saved guarantee , we must continue to live our lives in line with Bible truth to 'perhaps' be found in Gods favor and be preserved alive during the upcoming great war of Armageddon.

Obviously this would mean that we would have abandoned (and keep away from) pagan and false religious teachings , like hellfire , the disgusting trinity doctrine and the immortal soul concept.

These things God hates and people that profess to be saved , and yet follow such teachings , are just dreamin.

To be a Christian you need to follow the full Bible and not water down anything from it. There is no such thing as feel goo religion and there is only 2 roads that lead to eternity, One is narrow and leads to eternal life with Jesus and the other is a wide road leading to hell where the devil and his servants will be. Christians need to be full time Christians and not in talk only but also in actions

I have serious doubts that anyone can tell the state of one's salvation by words on a computer screen. Anyone can say pretty much anything they want to on the Internet. If I say my real name is Heidi Klum, who's going to be able to prove me wrong?

As for "riding the fence" and "going along with everything" - I tend towards the opinion that the love of God covers a multitude of sins, and that if He chooses to forgive someone, it's certainly not my job to gainsay that. I am commanded to present the Gospel to anyone who wants to listen. I do that. I am not commanded to convert anyone - that's the Spirit's job. I am particularly commanded not to judge. I fail a lot there, but I try. As long as what someone does injures no one else, I think it's basically none of my business. I will let them know what I believe. I will then allow them to exercise their God-given free will to choose for themselves. Anything further strikes me as the very soul of arrogance, if not a usurpation of God's authority.

Hey Dorothy...long time, no talk. Anyway, I know that Jesus Christ died for mankind's sins and that He loves me, however, I do not feel close to Him--I pray to Him but I can't hear Him. I want to be close to Him, but He feels millions of miles away. I know that Jesus lives in you, but as for me, I do not know. Sometimes I feel like Satan and his demons have hijacked my body...like they are keeping me from drawing close to the Lord. It has been so long since I "felt" the Lord that I often times find myself questioning His existence. I do not feel the Holy Spirit anymore--I feel completely and utterly alone. But back to the question. I believe in the teachings of the Bible and I try to do what God wants of me, but I struggle with this very much. I see my friends who do not know the Lord, but I never try to show them the Truth because I hardly know it myself. To be honest, I ride the fence, because I do not know which side to join. And as for whether or not I am saved, I have never known.

Christian or not, one's answer can have no effect or can have very profound effects on others. It is all based on interpretation and perceptions...just like religion.

I am a practicing Christian for 30 years. I have, over the course of these years, been intimately exposed to Islam, Judiasm, Buddism, and Hinduism.

All religions are pretty much the same. They are all interpreted and preceived from different angles.

What is sad is that others don't understand that Christians are normal people like everyone else. People that already prejudge Christians as a bunch of non-human entities that lack intellects because they have faith are the ones who need the berating and not Christians.

People can say if one is saved based on their own preconceived opinions. But that doesn't mean that one is saved. I am a Christian. At least, I try to act like one in my public relations. However, what I believe in, how I interpret the Bible, how I explore other ideas, is my own style. I am no longer a product of closed-minded conditioning. And I have had very real religious/spiritual experiences.
