With all due respect, but why would you want to do something like that???

For the sake of a few $$$, why compromise the safety of an airplane???

Just toss it out and buy a replacement when you arrive at your destination.

Cheers :)

I was on a flight to Berlin last week and they asked me if I had any lighters in my checked luggage anywhere at check-in with all the "did you pack your bag?" questions.

Judging by that, you should probably remove it or ask at check in as I expect it changes from country to country.

Remove all flammable items like 'fuel'. They are illegal and your liable to be removed from the aircraft.
Please use your head when packing these things...Its not fun if you have to bail at 33000 feet.
Buy what you need when you get to your destination.
