Just a short list as well.Amazing isn't it?I wonder how many answers you will get with there being "there is only one" somewhere in it.

Most of what man has labeled as "gods" are nothing more than angels and fallen angels. Some names are just dreamed up ones cause someone had a vision or a bad reaction to something they smoked. Just like we have Manson today with all he says. And some are, The One's names that He has had during time. But He told us, the last name He will ever use, is YHWH (Yodh Heh Wah Heh).
But the statement of "have no other god's before me" is clearly meaning, put no one ahead of, The One. Which is YHWH. Sure Jew's stole this as their G_D. But YHWH is found in the oldest text on earth, long before bible, Sumerian tablets and others. It is even found inscribed on stones among the Native Indians prior to the Spanish. Something that is rarely mentioned in books.
I am guessing this was an ongoing question from another that I missed. (??)

There is only one "true God."
We make our own idols...and these are the gods that are referred to. Man made idols...anything that can come between us and our devotion to the One True God.
You need to read more verses that establish the pattern...all things are designed with specific purpose by God...of course His words are going to all be complimentary and with specific purpose...
2Ch 15:3 -
For a long time Israel was without the true God, without a priest to teach and without the law.
Jer 10:10 -
But the Lord is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. When he is angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his wrath.
Joh 17:3 -
Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
1Th 1:9 -
for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God.
The Bible consists of 66 books by many different authors for a reason. They support and compliment each other to establish an M.O. if you will. You can't cherry pick different parts of the Bible without reading the other parts of the Bible that support and clarify the statement.
