I think this falls under the category of,"Of Course Not!!" But maybe that's just me. After all it seems to me that giving them a License is Aiding and Abetting a criminal activity,Isn't it? Of course it is. Hopefully Gov. Spitzer will follow his new plan, which was to give a "Special" license to Illegals, which would be easily identifiable. At that point other states should begin pulling all NY plated vehicles over and if they receive one of these licenses when they ask for ID the person could be arrested for Illegal US entry on the spot, with the license being evidence of the crime.

Drivers license is considered as ID at times & can be used to open bank accounts and other administrative work.
So a drivers license must be issued only to those who are either citizens in the country or are living in the country legally.
Illegal migrant must not be issued a drivers license since there are great chance of mis-use.

Again, how better to keep track of them?????
People, think about this...
You get their mug shot & finger printed, which always has a date when first aquired... This can add to a penalty when immigrating. Go to DHS and go to INS section & show me the link where a DL can be used for that purpose-immigrating.
This places burden on employers who pay illegals cash by IRS placing burden on proof of 1.expenses on employers(1.currently a loop hole).
This can lead to a positve taxation purpose. Remember, Driving is not a right, rather a privalege which can be revoked or used to deny immigration, currently effective by denial or bonding-in.
This will enable them to get ins for you to collect in the event of an accident. As for evading, since when has a convict gotten away when PD wants them?

Yes! They should be able to have a driver's license - back home in the country where they came from, where they are allowed to live legally.

No they should not. If they are not here legally then they don't have the same rights as we do. We already pay to educate their kids. I am glad for that as a child deserves to learn. I do not believe that they have the same legal right to receive a public privilege like a drivers license

Yes they should. In THEIR country, not ours. They have no right to be here, they are ILLEGALLY in our country, why should they be given a drivers license?

If you are here Illegally then NO. If the state issues you any type of documentation knowing you are here illegally then they are choosing to ignore the law.

first of all you do no longer could be a citizen to get a license, and on the entire i could incredibly have all people on the line utilizing with a valid license and insurance so i understand they have had some instruction and could pay in case of an accident. perhaps as a speaking element no longer permitting illegals to have a license sounds sturdy, yet once you seem at it, sounding sturdy and the certainty of having untrained drivers on the line is soliciting for worry.
