And love is just an emotion, then surely god is just an emotional state.

I'm afraid you are all describing emotions and reactions to emotions, chemical and electrical reactions and processes in the brain.Nothing more.I am not saying love isn't a wonderful thing, but it is only a thing in an emotional sense. It has no tangibility.

Adelaide B- you are describing more chemical and electrical processes in the brain.Whether you think or feel, they are all similar processes depending on either hormonal or chemical release and reaction.

Whichever way you dress it up,it is as all things are to us - interpretations in our brain to a certain stimuli. Therefore you are right.

Love is an emotion? What the? Did you really say that?
Man you're....I just can't believe you said that. Where are you learning that crap from? Love is an emotion?
I get it now. You're a naturalist. You don't believe in anything outside sensational response. That's why you don't get it.
Rational people who use there brains to rise above that status so they achieve a degree of emotional intelligence have real relationships that are beneficial and long lasting. They can see beyond the next orgasm into real beneficial relationships that are truly concerned about their mates well being.
You do not know love ergo you do not know God.

What we think determines what we feel not the other way around.
People who live solely according to how they 'feel' are idiots.
And furthermore love is more of an action than an emotion.
For example to run into the front of a bus to save someones life you don't even know is an act of love.
You can love strangers depending on how you treat them.
You can love your neighbor by showing them enough respect to keep quiet after 8pm even though the law states 10pm.
Love has many forms and many actions but emotion is the byproduct of love not the product itself.
When Jesus the Son of God died in our place on the cross so we wouldn't have to be judged for our sins and spend eternity in hell that was Love of the highest form.
If someone tells you they love you but never does anything to show it would you believe them?
But what if they always show it but never tell you would you find it easier to believe?
God says He loves us and He shows us He loves us.
And that's good enough for me.

God has agape love..this sacrificial love isn't based on a feeling, but a determined act of the will, a joyful resolve to put the welfare of others above our own. but this type of love does not come naturally to humans. because of our fallen nature, we are incapable of producing such a love. if we are to love as God loves, that love – that agape – can only come from its true source.
love is defined and elaborated on in 1 corinthians 13:1-13. in examining these verses, we see that love isn't an emotion; it is action. we must be doing something and involved in the process.

maybe. not surely. i would invite you to show proof that god is love. why not anger, sadness, hate, or some other emotion? If you're quoting the Bible, that's just silly as this deity is capable of flooding the entire earth. emotions can't do that. however, magic can. maybe god is a sorcerer.

A description of what God's love means is given in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8; '... love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails ...

Love not god , Love is one of the quality of god.
Love is god giving thing.
If you have love then you are lucky
If you don't have then also lucky.
But love is better then nothing.
Love is a way of living.
Love is a way of life.
But God is God. God is Great , always.
God is every thing not just love.
If you got love then you realized God is more then love.
in this world we have 2 type of love.
one for this world and other for the world after death.
so 1st of all understand difference between 2 type of love.
then you feel better.

love is not just an emotion. love requires commitment and selflessness. it is a verb and not just an emotion. to think that it is just so is shallow. no love is base only on emotions. if you base love on emotion, then the love you are talking about is nothing but a shallow feeling of euphoria, in other words, illusion.
I don't take Bible-fundies words for anything, but this words you just posted tells so much about you as a person.
