In NV. No they are not.

The only .50 caliber rifles banned are those firing the .50 BMG round. .50 caliber rifles that are not capable of firing the .50 BMG are perfectly legal. It is my understanding that a few gunsmiths have the capability to produce .50 caliber rifles that will not chamber the .50 BMG and are therefore currently legal under California law. One gunsmith has come up with the catchy name of .50 KMA (I'll let you figure out what he wants the state to kiss) that has a slightly different shoulder angle that prevents the .50 BMG from chambering and is therefore perfectly legal. To the best of my knowledge you are still free to own all .50 rifles in Nevada.

Its only the very large 50BMG cartridge that is banned.

50 cal handguns are still okay.

50 cal muzzleloaders are still okay.

50 cal wild west single shots like the sharps are okay.

50 cal elephant guns(like the 500nitro, 500-a-sqaure, 500 Jeffery etc.) are still okay.

And even if you do have a real 50BMG what you can do is shorten the case and chamber a little and call it something different and then it is legal.

Like the 50 DTC. Same case as the BMG but shortened and blown out a bit.

YES..Banned in California. The California State Legislature and Governor Schwarzenegger are having major issues with their own Police Departments having them.......let alone civilians.

Nevada is still a state where you can legally own one, but they must still be registered

yes, thanks to governor AAHHNOLD, weapons firing the 50 cal are banned. It goes along with his most recent stupidity, where he is signing into law a new requirement that all firearms imprint the serial number etc of the weapon that fired it. Such stupidity boggles the mind. But then again, you folk keep electing him and his liberal friends. As my Grandfather used to say " you pay's yer money, you takes yer chances"

NOTE: This ridiculous affront to and violation of law-abiding citizens' rights applies to weapons chambered for the .50 BMG (Browning Machine Gun) cartridge ONLY! The Socialistas that perpetrated this on your citizens didn't take into account that there are several other 'wildcat' versions of the .50 BMG used in rifles, all of which are, at least for now, still legal to possess in the People's Republik, as well as the .45-.50 Magnum 'hand cannon' pistol cartridges, as well.
This 'politically corrected' infection has not yet spread across the border into any of Kalifornia's 'Free State' neighbors, and, thankfully for OUR Second Amendment Rights, probably NEVER will! ! ! !( Our politicians like keeping their office jobs too much! ! !LOL! ! ! !)
