18 huh? The teens and young adulthood is hard time, and there's probably other issues that play a factor.

You're not emo. That word is being overused these days. Everyone has feelings. Now that you admitted them, get some help and no one will think the less of you.
If your life feels like nothing, you might be depressed. Take a screening test online perhaps..

See a therapist maybe or talk to your school counselor

Call a hotline, they're there to talk to you, and it's anonymous.

If you dont' want to...try cognitive reframing. Phrase everything in positive thoughts instead. ie. "I failed that test; I'm a failure"-->change it to That test was hard, but that doesn't mean I'm a failure. There will be more tests and I won't fail every one of them." Something like that

I feel like you do. I have been to a therapist and can tell you what he told me.

Set some goals and accomplish them. Join a sports team or league. If you do not have any good friends around get some, find a partner, you could just need some social contact.

Its easier said then done. You may want to go to a psychiatrist and see if they want to prescribe something for you or talk to someone.

I am sorry to tell you this is not an easy process, it will take some hard work and like anything will have some ups and downs, but its better than nothing. Just trying will make you feel better.

What's with all this "emptiness" people complain about? This is a great country. You have the freedom to pursue whatever you want. Take up painting, martial arts, singing lessons, change jobs, change cars, change residences, changes states, whatever you want to do. Dare to live a life that makes you happy instead of the typical Go To School, Get A Job and then Die.

Try writing down a list of things you are grateful for.
Don't forget about your support system - get in touch with your friends and family, maybe even start writing your holiday letter or addressing holiday cards early.
Talk to someone who can sympathize/empathize with what you are going through, whether it be a friend, a close family member, clergy, or a counselor.
Try volunteering for a cause that helps the less fortunate. When you help others, it can help you feel better about yourself.

If you believe in God, then logically what is the purpose of your life? If God really exists, isn't that the most awesome statement that could ever be spoken. Yet you're here burdened with cares about yourself as if God doesn't matter at all.

Christians believe that our purpose on earth is to seek God, to let God reveal Himself to us and then to proclaim to the world what we have discovered. That process is called glorifying God.

We find God by obeying His command to love our neighbor for where love is, there God is also. If you do this, you will find your joy in that love.
