Many inocent people where murdered in the name the Church.
In these enlightened time of free thinkers do you think a large religious group is capable of or willing to commit these acts again to controll non believers and those who don't agree with their views ?

I did not say Catholic church
Yes I know what's going on in the Middle East but I am asking about if you think it would be carried out at the open encourgement of religion and not the so call war on terror or national interests.

First, don't confuse Catholicism with the Church! Who do you think the Inquisition was persecuting? Heretics! Which was anyone who disagreed with the Catholic church. Who was that? True Christians.
Yes I think it is still possible for it to happen again. Islam for one has an agenda of world control and according tot he Quran that will eventually become violent when they have a majority of control.

They wouldn't be able to get away with it, even if they wanted to.
There are several reasons for this:
1. Governments are different now. When the Crusades began, most of the known world was under a feudal system. Power belonged to a select few, including the Church. Power and wealth are more evenly distributed now. It's still not a perfect system, but it's better than it was.
2. There's the fact that until the 17th century, the Bible was not available to the masses in a language they could understand. The Bible is now available to about 90% of the world, so there's no way anyone could be fooled into thinking another Crusade or Inquisition is justified.
3. When the Inquisitions began, most of Europe was just beginning to fall under the Black Plague (which it continued to suffer under in varying degrees until the 17th century). No deadly virus, no need to curse anyone for it. I think the witch hunts had a lot to do with the Black Plague. SOMEONE had to be blamed, because they certainly couldn't blame their lack of hygiene.
My point is, those three things would have to happen in one way or another to make another Crusade or Inquisition occur again.

You are assuming that you know what you are talking about and you are off the mark.
The Catholics are not the church. Just one of them and the rest of Christianity and most of the people were against it.
It's main mission was to annihilate the Jew and steal his money. It was so profitable a few so called priests got rich off of it as well as the Papacy and the King of Spain.
Not spiritual political.
It will happen again. The next Pope and the anti-christ will be big time buddies. Many Christians converted after the Rapture will be beheaded by the church, joined with the Islamic people.

As usual a blind eye is turned to the persecution of Christians all around the world that are happening right now and is replaced with some hypothetical that makes Christians the bad guys. Don't you realize that they will be coming for you next? Anyway no, the church doesn't train it's youth to hate other belief systems, Islam uses that educational method.

no...it is the bankers that have all the power these days. just like the american govt. is in debt to the federal reserve for trillions of $$$. so who do you think has the power? bush? no.
money enslaves the world now, not fallen christian churches.
and these global banking powers have a dark agenda for the world.

I really don't think your scenario of a Christian Inquisition would ever happen again. But surely an atheistic crusade as seen in Communist Russia is much more likely to happen, and much more deadly.

No globally, in select areas, yes. However worldwide support of such action is not present, nor will it ever be present for a particular religion.

Any Christian/Catholic church...no.
The Muslims are giving it the old college try though. And thanks to many bleeding hearts and political correctness they are doing better than they should be.
