Global warming is not the same as getting hit with a texas size meteor - the end of the world is not coming yet.
Furthermore, my children are very very smart, maybe they will be the ones who solve the global warming problem. Having children doesn't make it worse.

Peter, if your response to this mess is to choose to remain childless, so be it. I'm from a large family, so is my husband, but we chose to stop at 2 for personal, financial and environmental reasons. That was our choice, and people that are inclined to bear children should not be dissuaded by such issues. The rising world population is a serious issue, but raising a small family sustainably is completely possible with existing technology and knowledge.

We dared, both are turning out to be fantastic people, and the grandson is one of my favorite people on the planet, and he's not even 3. I have high hopes for his future, and have stepped up efforts to learn about human-related climate change so I can become part of the solution, rather than part of the problem. Learning how to live sustainably, incorporating elements of Permaculture into our lives, sharing what we learn with others, especially my kids and grandchild, is part of how I plan to accomplish that.

Why pay taxes? Why post ridiculous questions like this online? If you don't want to be a parent, fine. Don't tell others how to live.

It really should be pronounced Global Worming, defined as an attempt by the U.N. to worm their way into controlling your life and your pocket book.
