Actually, the answer is that the prophecy was that the Messiah would come from the line of Abraham. Abraham was from the land of Canaan, which would later be named for Abe's grandson Jacob (later named Israel).
The joke, neverminding the fact that it's not funny in the first place, doesn't really make much sense, since the actual answer is so simple.

That is not funny. You insult Christians, and Mexicans at the same time.
That is not original. I have heard the same three-wise-men-and-a-virgin applied to any one of a number of Candian provinces and American states, and I-don't-know-how-many cities.
You could do well to pose more mature and respectful questions in future.
