Three points:
1. Most Christians look at themselves and say "I don't do those things." And they're right - most Christians don't.
2. Most Christians - like most people - have no understanding of the fact that the groups, societies, classes, nations, etc that they belong to act in ways that are contrary to their personal beliefs. We don't take accountability for the actions of the group, believing that we are justified in our personal actions.
3. Are Christians any worse than any other group in this? Probably not, on the whole. Although some groups probably are better than others. Still we ought to take account of the fact that anyone who bears the name of Christ reflects upon Christ himself and upon all Christians. So to the extent that other Christians and even myself fail to live up to the teachings of Christ, I am sorry.
Peace to you.

You ask a valid question since Christian believers did persecute people of other religions in the past, such as in the Middle Ages (i.e., the Spanish Inquisition, the Crusaders, etc.). The reason was generally ignorance. Paul puts it this way: “they had a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge” (Rom 10:2). In such a time as the Middle Ages, most of the Catholic religious leaders were corrupt, and the general population was forbidden from reading the Bible for themselves. Because of ignorance, the masses followed the corrupt leaders and committed many atrocious acts against people of other religions.
The case is the same today. If any so-called Christian persecutes others, it’s a result of ignorance. However, you must first be sure to understand what persecution means. Persecution means “to oppress or harass with ill-treatment.” Telling others about the Good News of Jesus Christ is not persecution. Neither is warning them of a horrible eternity if they reject Jesus Christ. True Christians speak these truths in all sincerity and love because s/he really wants the hearers to be blessed and have an amazing life with God now and forever. I hope you will find life with God as well.
God bless.

Persecute? Im not sure what country you live in, but here in America it is much different. Secular beings run our media. Christians are not represented on most major vehicles of mass media; be it movies, television, and music. I dont see people being threatened death by Christians, for this is not what Christians do. I'm sure you realize this if you live in a free country like America. As far as discrimination, if you mean disagreement based on personal beliefs, then yes we "discriminate" Of course it wouldnt be ok if we had our own thoughts that different from that mainstream media stuff I just mentioned, right? And wars, I cant recall in the last 900 years at least a war waged by Christians that was truly made and done in the name of God. Yet, I can name another religion where it is waged on a daily basis. And you dont see us posting questions about it all over the place, either.

They are not truly Christians. A true Christian encourages others and freely allows the person their right to choose the path of salvation, mainly by example. Not everyone is to follow the narrow path. Not everyone can. But, certainly no one can choose when persecuted. Surround yourself with ones who exhibit this quality and then you may be able to make a choice.

I think the more accurate version of your question would be
Why do people always persecute believers of other religions/traditions? It's not a Christian thing, it's a people thing. I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but you aren't "people," you are "person," so even if you don't persecute people who are different from you, people still do.

Not all Christians are like that. In every religion, there is always a "black sheep."
Christianity is indeed for peace.
To be more rational:
Almost everybody in the world are Christians.... ALMOST
Some are Christians in their deeds.
Some are Christians only by name.
There are so many people in the world and many people claiming that they are Christians. But Christianity is all too common now that some Christians take their religion for granted. Anyway, our parents religion is likely to be our religion with all the traditions and practices attached. Would you really expect almost half of the people in the world (Christians) to be all true?

Maybe it's because there are over 3000 of us killed everyday because of our beliefs.
I have never seen a Christian church shut it's doors to anyone other than those who come and commit sacrileges during the service.
If a Christian trys to visit a Mosque? If other faiths are so discriminated against why do we have so many in Washington?
Crocodile tears here.

"True Christians" do NOT discriminate or persecute people. They are commanded by God to witness to people the Truth of God. The God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, through the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. The war and upheaval of which you speak of is caused by the influence Satan has on the world. Satan spiritually influences humanity to reject God and God's law. Under Satan's influence, "the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can [it] be" (Romans 8:7).

Customised song writer, Are you sure your not wrong? i know that you preach that the bible is the word of god, but most religions believe this of their writings and books. Would you tell a buddist monk that he will burn for eternity?
