My co-worker's birthday is coming up and I am looking for ladies opinion on a good birthday gift. She is pretty cool, fun, modern, and into fashion. I want to get her something nice, but am unsure as I don't want to go overboard, and yet don't want to give something very paltry either (she has become a good friend). Would a gift card to a clothing store be appropriate? How much should I spend tops? Does anyone know if there are gift items at Bed/Body works shop (should I even venture there for a gift for her?) I am open to ANY suggestion. Thank you!

Gift Certificate to her favorite store.

Be careful with fragrances, she may be allergic or not like fragrances. If you choose to purchase at Bed/Bath buy a Gift Certificate.

Purchase a gift card to like "Starbucks" or some coffee place. Basically, so she can buy coffee before work and its an appropriate gift to give a female co-worker. If you give her victoria secrets, that is thoughtful but would be inappropriate and sent the wrong message. You don't want to send the wrong message.

any gift certificate that will suit her best is good,so she can decide which item she likes.it's just that it depends how much GC you will give to her.it may have an effect on how much you will give to her because she knows how much is it,unlike buying her a gift she may not know the amount but the effort in choosing the item you put into it is nice to think about....

Stay away from fragrances and clothes- they're personal.

Go for accessories, like earrings, bracelets, a scarf, an anklet...
a handmade card to go!

or chocolates, an interesting book/ movie etc. (these are more impersonal though)

Does she wear a bracelet? I would give her a gold charm to put on it. I wouldn't get her clothing as that is a personal choice. She may not have the same tastes as you. A voucher would be good. How about tickets to a play or concert?
