A google search regarding orphanages in Mumbai should help. Also, contact communities of faith -- English-speaking churches, mosques, etc. can help put you in contact with credible charities. If Save the Children or Oxfam have offices there, they would know of credible charities that would accept your donation. Finally, try your country's embassy in India.

Why would you want to do that when there are millions of needy children here in the US? You could even donate them to a local charity and help a struggling family in your own town.

Ah, OK. Have you tried contacting The Red Cross? They are usually involved with orphanages overseas.
