The youthful are always more open to new ideas and alternative viewpoints. That's why religion devotes a disproportionate amount of energy and resources to try to indoctrinate them.

Although Satan's 100 year extended power over the World has expired,he still has many followers who can't break free of his hold.See, he has even fooled you. You say the "truth to which i refer is of course their religion, their doctrine, their whole freaking system,is a sham" Ok prove it .Give details ,figures, anything . This is how Satan talks. He wants to get rid of all these things so people will leave God and choose Satan. You still have time for conversion. God's Mother ,Mary has been appearing to people over the last 1000 years. Her most recent apparitions are at Medjugorje,Boznia-Herzegovina (Now i know you will not believe in any of this ,99.9 percent of Christians don't either, but, just have an open mind for the moment) Her messages are about how we should live to get back to God.The most important message concerns the Second Coming of Christ to judge the world. That event is getting closer and God wants mankind to mend his ways.Mary is appearing to 6 people to tell the world of the urgency to return to the ways of God.Mary said"You have forgotten, that through prayer, you can stop wars, and you can alter the laws of nature".
If you are an Atheist, disregard everything i have written (naturally).

Isn't there a little bit of a contradiction there? You say you want to unite people but in the same breath say but lets forget about group b. As far as global warming and the energy shortage goes i think that you achieve those two tasks without getting rid of religion. Furthermore, you are probably going to waste more time trying to deconvert people.

So, in other words, you are trying to find out who would be easier to "convert" younger or older believers. Sound familiar to any one else? This world is full of a diverse people. Always has been and always will be. The truth that you refer to is only your opinion and you are entitled to it. Just as every body else in this world is entitled to their own belief. No one has the right to decide what is right for the whole world. I believe my faith is right, but I am not calling your non belief a sham. And if you can't work with a person because of their belief, what does that say about you. Intelligent people, whether they believe or not, are able to except the differences and work together. And you only mentioned Christians. So does that mean that other religions are not worth worrying about. Are you that afraid of Christians, that you want to get rid of all of them, by trying to "convert" them? How arrogant.

The problem with a Utopian society that you so crave is that it is presumed what people should want as opposed to what people actually want. The likes of Stalin, Mao, and Hitler all started on these types of ideals. Perhaps theirs was littered more with greed and power, yet the outcome would be the same. I suppose you are in favor of sterilization of Christians as well. I can easily imagine you in charge of an internment camp of Christians you so despise just waiting for the day you get to execute a few for the sake of humankind. I believe you are sick in the head and very misguided.

Haha!
This question kinda reminds me of that South Park episode when Cartman goes into a future void of Religion.
Scientists are just as fickle and conflicting with other Scientists as Theists are to other Theists. To make the claim that the world would be better off without religion because it would unite people is a rediculous notion because Science cant agree with itself now... how do you expect people to unite under Science when Science isn't even united??
Sounds like you're the delusional one... but good luck with that...
"In the name of Science!"

the only sham is man itself. God made mankind upright in heart in the beginning, but it is always man that goes searching for evil to do. do you not see that? you are not wrong in saying that there is a sham, truthfully there are many false religions in the world! that is what you are seeing. but God has a true church and when you see how the people live their lives you will see the solution to the current "unity" problem. but this will never happen because man always gets in the way of God. that too is what you see in the world..."religious hypocrites" and those who refuse to obey God. you really think that if no one believed in God that it would be a Godless eutopia? well...not much of the world is listening to God right now anyway...so what have we done with it (the world) thus far? fixed it? do you think that man is moral under all circumstances? my observation of man is that the more desperate the situation... the more inhuman he is . you see that too right? or do you think people would just have faith (trust) in the goodness of mankind? the real delusion is thinking that man is inherently good and that religion is to blame. it is always man that is to blame. it is when society crumbles, and the worst case scenario happens, when survival is the only option that you will see mankind in it's true light. but to defend those who TRULY live according to God's purpose... we actually do live like this. "You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." matthew 5:38-48
now if everyone in the world listened to just that one scripture, what would the world be like? my dear...God IS the answer.

I'd call it a draw; young people have more time, and older people have the necessary experience. All in all, it depends on the person, and not the age. Of course, being a Jew, and a convert TO Judaism at that, I have to say that I've got no intention of changing THAT part of my life. I'm right, and everybody else is wrong, didn't you know that??? ;-)
Grins and Shalom :-)

And it's a sham, because you say so.... So, by extension, I can say "When are atheists going to wake up and realize the only way to combat climate change is to worship God and then he will deliver us."
Everyone believes something. Ghosts, UFO's, ESP, religion, no-religion, kenndy conspiracy.... Do you want to have everyone believe the same things and think the same thoughts? What a boring world it would be if you got your way....

Everyone has a belief system, including athiests. So yours is best? Of course, that's why you chose it.
There may some day be no more Christians in this world, but not while I'm alive.
