God's law in the Old Testiment was the written word(even the New Testiment). This is God's love for us.

God's law is fulfilled in Jesus Christ...who is the Living Word....God's love for us.

God loves us, therefore gives us guidance for our lives. Jesus fulfills our lives with the love of God.

Before Sinai, God used individuals like Abel, Enoch, Noah and Abraham to witness against the sin that existed in the world. Once the time came that God chose to make Israel a special nation for Himself, that changed. Because of the sheer numbers of people involved, the Law was codified at Sinai not just as an instruction book on how God expected the new nation to live, but also as a witness, not just against Israel, but against the entire human race. God set Israel as a light among the nations and they failed Him.

Again, in order to teach Israel and the world how to love their neighbor and how to love God, the Law was codified. That is the whole message the Christ was getting accross when He said that the Law hung, or was built on those two greatest commandments. The Law shows how and when God expects to be worshiped and it shows how God expects us to treat our fellow man. The punishments required from the transgressions of that Law have been paid for for those who accept the covering blood of Messiah Yehsua. That means we should strive to no longer live in such a manner that transgresses that Law, otherwise we are trampling the blood of the Christ underfoot. Again, the grace extended by the blood of the Christ covers us when we do fall short or sin in a manner that transgresses God's Law. Grace and Law are not mutually exclusive of one another, it is, rather, a cause and effect type of relationship. Because we sin and break the Law we need grace to be forgiven.

Those who outright reject what the Law commands, and misinterpret the clear written changes made in the New Testament, are not a part of Christ and are not covered by grace.

His law of faith, aka the law of the Spirit is a law of love. The law of God given to Israel to keep/observe was solely for them, and was structured to be a witness against them, seeing as they were a stiff-necked, rebellious people.

The laws of God are of love because they are for our protection. Anything that is not pure is harmful to us and others. People do not understand that this is true. They believe that sin is harmless.
