This Lutheran wears a crucifix as a reminder of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, without which there would have been no need for His resurrection and no hope for mine. And I do read the Bible, but a picture is worth a thousand words.

The cross is the symbol of our salvation attained through Jesus' suffering.
He was indeed resurrected and we do remember that.
We read the Bible too, but more to LEARN more about God.
The cross is the symbol of Christianity. It was once the symbol of suffering alone. But now, it is the symbol of salvation. The cross and the Bible are both important to Christianity. The cross is the sign of a true Christian and the Bible is the Book of Life.

In case you didn't know, we do remember and celebrate His resurrection. It happens during the most climatic time of year for Catholics: Easter.
The crucifix is a reminder of Him, His sacrifice, and most of all His love. That's why we wear them because its a small way of wanting to be closer to Him, to be constantly reminded of what He did for us, and how much He truly, truly loves us.
God bless.

Why do we have fifty stars on the American flag? Is someone going to forget we have fifty states? Even if someone did forget how many states there are, you think they'd count that many stars?
Why do we even need a flag? Don't they REMEMBER that we have a constitution. Why don't we put that on a flag pole. If people want 2 b reminded, why don't they just read the constitution? It's described there...

Last time I checked, freedom of expression is guaranteed in this country, as is freedom of religion.
If you don't care to wear a cross, then don't.
But you're sure going to look stupid wearing a bible around your neck.

I would say thats how they wanna remember him. Pain and suffering for peoples sins.
What if Jesus would've been hanged?
What would people wear then?? Can someone answer that sensibly?

It's like having a picture. It's to remind you. You know the person isn't still sitting where they were when the picture was taken! It's a representation. Lighten up!

They want to have a visual aid to remind them of the suffering he endured for them, I think.
It doesn't make me think they are less than faithful for a visual reminder.
Why does this upset you so, especially if you aren't Catholic?

Hypocritical of you to criticize the fact that some of us wear crucifixes, when YOU do not even celebrate lent!
I hear that BS that He suffered so we don't have to. Get some DEPTH, will you!
Observe lent, which summarizes the story of salvation. I find it UNFORGIVABLE that you will not even celebrate easter (when he resurrected, remember?)
THINK!
