They were the ones who instigated the crucification of Christ! They are more concerned with filling their needs rather then with the teachings of the mystics.

We do not need priests in todays' or any days' spiritualism but teachers and guides, yes we do need them. Some of the priests do qualify as real teachers and guides (not just performers of the rituals).

While it is true that a few Jewish religious leaders participated the the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, that does not mean that the entire priesthood is not required.

Jesus Christ and the Apostles kept the priesthood in the model for the new Christian Church.

The priesthood is described in the Bible as presbyters in:
+ Acts 11:30, 14:23, 15:2, 5-6, 15:22-23, 16:4, 20:17, 21:18
+ 1 Timothy 5:17-19
+ Titus 1:5-8
+ James 5:14
+ 1 Peter 5:1, 5
+ 2 John 0:1
+ 3 John 0:1

Today priests (presbyters) and deacons assist bishops (apostles) just like in the Bible in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the deep spirituality that goes with it.

The Presbyterian Church is named for this biblical vocation.

With love in Christ.

Priests are only required by religious institutions and religions.
Spiritualism is an individual effort to understand the Supreme. No one can broker spiritual realisation.

My friend, God doesn't require us to go every day/weekend to temples to pray, we can do it anytime in our inner temple, our mind. God is everywhere. And those priests you were talking about, they're same like us, humans, nothing more. And to prove that is your saying when you said that the priests are only there to complete their own needs then this proves of their humanity, so the truest form of worshiping is your inner temple or "MUN-MANDIR".

may be.... they are not fulfilling their actual role... but... remember God had to use them like.. Nicodemus, Joseph of Arithmea.... even those days they exploited... but as Paul says... all powers are given by God... He felt the need. Just bcoz of our spritual rebirth we become kings and priests... but God has called some to be apostles, some teachers.... it's their calling... if they donot fulfill their job... they answer for it... but we NEED them,
