He's only human, he might have done charitable things and done good things but is he Jesus? Why must you now turn him into a saint and start praying to him? Isn't that the same thing as idolitry? Or would you say, you pray to him so he can intervene for you to God?!

I didn't, but he was very popular with millions of people.
There are elements in the Catholic Church who are trying to "fast track" John Paul II to sainthood without waiting 25 years..

The communion of saints includes the whole church: those on earth, those in heaven, and those in purgatory.

All are eternally united in Christ through the Holy Spirit, by virtue of their baptism.

All are one big family, and there is absolutely no prohibition against asking a family member to pray for you, wherever he might presently reside.

And while God doesn't play favorites, I'm betting that Pope JPII's prayers might be a wee bit more effective than yours.

And Jesus NEVER said that we must pray only through him.

See the Lord's prayer. That concept isn't in there.

1. What is a holic?
2. JP2 has not been made a saint. There is a 25 year waiting period before you are eligible.

Pope John Paul II will likely be canonized, but that hasn't happened yet.

Last I heard, he wasn't a saint at this time, so the question is moot.
