1)Islam never block healthy activities.
2) man and woman can talk each other but no unnecessary vulgar chatting. even men are not allowed to chat vulgar with each other. its not specific to women only.
3) no religion allow to hear vulgar music. normal music can be heard in Muslims
4) no religion allow their citizen to watch x rated movies
5) they absolutely live free life but as u cant cross red light while driving similarly there are some restriction too like drinking Alcohol or eating ham etc.
5) how u describe the word fun? do drinking Alcohol is fun? having free sex with anybody is fun? taking drugs is fun?
if all above activities are fun then sorry to say no religion on this earth allows these type of fun.
any more question?

I feel that it is a trade off. Some restrictions in this life for paradise in the hereafter. We as humans make choices, I myself feel that it is a small sacrifice not to have some of the so-called enjoyments of this world to have eternal paradise, if God wills.
As for the restrictions placed upon Muslims by God they are protections. Example the non-mixing of men & women is in place so as to reduce the desires between the sexes. Not to say if you have business to attend to or something of necessity to deal with that you cannot speak to someone of the opposite sex, this is permissible.
Music is said to be a distraction from the remembrance of God. It is better that we (Muslims) fill our heart & head for that matter with Quran than sensless music.
I hope that this clears some of your misconceptions of the restrictions placed on Muslims.
Basically they are there to protect or encourage Islamic beliefs & keep us away from unnecessary time consuming things.

i go out with my friends about 4 days a week
i know just as many men as women
i listen to music as long as it doesnt degrade women or is too explicit
i go to the movies once a week at least!!!
cant have a free life??? what the hell does that mean???
i can have as much fun as i want as long as its CLEAN fun
nothing you said is true..are you talking about "islam" or "saudi arabian culture" ?? those are two different things.

Islam does not stop one from having a social life...Islam teaches people to be modest, so as to only be intimate with their husband/wife. The strictness you are thinking of comes in culture, not religion...

I live, drive, shop, meet up with mates, eat, sleep, get screamed at when the phone bills get triple the amount of what it is when im not at home, text, talk too much, get annoyed by my younger siblings, eat pizza, shop on ebay, addicted to bying bangles and my fave choc is yorkie.
i talk to my dad/brothers/uncles/cousins/my mufti/my doctor/optician/dentist as far as i know theyre all men!
i listen to nasheeds, theyre just as good as songs or better since they have some point behind them!
I dont watch movies because in my opinion theyre haraam.doesnt bother me though!by the way im not forced not to watch movies, its my own choice, the rest of my fam watches em.
i have free life, im not being forced to do anything, unless its by Jack Straw, who at one point tried to persuade me to remove my veil!!! im a woman!!! im stubborn!!! like that would have worked!!!
i have fun answering stoopid questions like this one on yahoo answers.
nope none of what you saids is even near the truth!!!

Only Islam gave social life, even:
There prayer is togehter
Their Hajj is tooooooooooogehter
Their Zakat is charity for together
Their fasting is alone but related prayers are together
Their Eid is together
Their marriage is together
Their family life of together
Their Jihad is together
Their morality teachings are together.
Really I am tired they are so togehter and social that we sometime feel fearful of their gatherings.

That's the same with a lot of religions. most people don't follow Islam that strictly, just the same as all the other religions that have silly rules.
