Why do some fundalmentalist think learning about evolution a form of religion?Even if evolution turns out true it doesn't mean god is not real.We CAN'T prove or disprove the existence of god.Don't forgot most christian holidays based on pagan beliefs(Easter,Christmas). Also during time of Jesus there were several other people claiming to be the messiah.Me personally I belief there is a possibility(not for sure) of a creative force in the universe, but don't believe it's some old beearded guy. To me a creator is the universe and life itself. My two cents

I belive with cadisney input. I am open minded about other possibilities about origin of life, but not going to blindly follow a outdated book dealing with creation and science. Bible written back when people though world was flat, and people with mental illness was possessed. Also you can thank the church for Europe being stuck in dark ages until a few centuries ago.

Evolution is called religion by some because many evolutionists and non-evolutionists alike fail to understand evolution. They just hold faith in the idea they came from “chimps” or “monkeys.” This in itself shows ignorance, major evolution (the idea we evolved and were not created) teaches that we most likely came from an ancient primate that was not a “chimp” or a “monkey” as many say. It teaches we evolved from the same thing only differently because of where they live etcetera.
This is a theory, and saying it is real requires faith. Faith is religious in nature.
Evolution is real, by definition. Things change, new breeds arise. But nothing has ever been able to show one class of animal can become something else entirely. A reptile into a bird: This is not proven. A bird into a new species of bird yet still leading to the laws of its class, this is proven. Did we come from a primordial soup? No one can prove this. Did God make us? No one can prove this. But before you claim to know the truth – stop and think… Is it the truth, or a faith? Could you win in an argument about it? Do you really know what you claim to have knowledge in? Are your answers just, “I believe we evolved!” or “God made use in a few days!”

Some people hold to evolution with the faith of a religious person believing in God.

Noone should be holding to evolution as the complete truth. We dont know. Scientists dont know. I can accept when someone says they believe that evolution was the way life began because it is the best explanation we have right now. But to not even be able to say that it might be wrong means you are holding onto the theory with a lot of faith. It might be wrong. There is certainly evidence to point that it might not be right. Scientists have gotten it wrong a lot in the past. There is still so much we dont know. So when someone holds to the theory of evolution like it is the only possible way there could be for the start of life, I dont see that as any more that a faith based doctrine they are clinging to.

A good scientist would be open to the possibility that it is incorrect even if they believe it is correct.

Since evolution IS real without a doubt, and God is likewise real, it is therefore obvious that the fact of evolution doesn't mean that God is not real. God is the origin of all natural processes. Why would this natural process be any different??

It's ironic isn't it? They say evolution is religion in a derogatory way. But they're the ones with the actual religion. It's like they're indirectly insulting themselves. Fundies were never that good at logic anyway.

These individuals believe that evolution is not so much a form of religion as it is a force against it. I think it is merely fact, period.
