I have a friend who's birthday is 12/12/?? and also was married on that date. I often see that # on my digital clocks and take it to be a sign to phone and chat. I never knew about the Mayan prediction. Those people were so 'bloody' in their culture, how could you trust their prophesies? I don't think so.
I also know there is a prediction, regarding the capstone of the Great Pyramid that says May 12, 2013, do you believe that?
Actually it isn't the 'end of the world', but the end of the present world reign which is the 2nd return of Jesus.

I dont think the Mayans meant the world would end. I think it was just that portion of the calandar was ending and a new age would come about. The world's going to end april 13, 2029 or April 13, 2036 from the asteroid apophis.

If the Mayans were that smart, they would have been able to predict what was going wrong with their society, their downfall, and fix it. They didn't. They got the date wrong - their society ended much earlier than 2012 AD [our calendar].

No, I don't think the world will end at that date...In Revelations, the Earth is supposed to last for 1000 years after Christ comes...Under His rule.. The Mayans just stopped the calender at that time...Maybe Christ will come then or before...It is unknown.

Matthew 24:42 "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

...actually, the Mayans did not predict that. They merely predicted that the present astrological age would end on that date. ...and indeed it will.

People thought America would erupt into chaos January 1, 2000 because of the Y2K bug. It didn't and all the hype was for nothing.

it was the 22nd not the 12th and i think it is just the end of there calendar cycle, so they thought thats when the world would end. you never know but if i had to say id say no. it is scary how their calculations were so accurate without all the technology that we have now
